LOFT + Lucky + Georgetown

Dress: ASOS, Cape: Old Navy, Purse: boutique in Nigeria, Earrings: vintage

Event: LOFT & Lucky Grand Opening Event
Where: Georgetown
Summary: Lucky Magazine and CapFabb co-founder, Lacey, hosted a welcome party for LOFT. I went with Waverly and Gwen. The event had champagne (may have down 2-3 glasses...), mini cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake, music from a great female DJ, store wide discounts and styling tips from Lucky fashion expert Rebecca Bradley and Lacey. I had a great time interacting with LOFT employees, customers and, of course, fellow DC bloggers.

On the right: the photographer for the event.
He is from Lomography and is holding a Lomo LC-Wide camera. It has a vintage look and feel to it.
I so want one.
You know who did get one for free? Customers that purchased $200 or more of LOFT items.

Awesome DJ! Wish I had gotten her name. *sad face*

A Golden Time

I was feeling myself just a bit in this vintage dress. OMWord, I am so in love with it. I mean, it had everything - lace, fringe, sparkle, patterns, gold. But yet, it wasn't overwhelming. It felt right. At first, I was going to wear it during my trip to Vegas. But then I was like, shit, I can't waste it like that. Granted Vegas is flashing lights central and a dress like mine would've been a great complement. But this dress screams birthday dress! So, I held it off until 10/21/2011.  On this night, I decided (last minute, of course, because once again...that's how I roll) to have a small dinner at The Melting Pot in DC. It's a fondue restaurant. Such a great experience for those that have never tried it. This was my second time going. And I will be heading there again. Hopefully, soon.

The hell kinda gang sign was I making? o_O

OMWord, this was hands down one of the best drinks I've ever had. So serious.
It's called Campfire S'mores Martini.
Fucking awesome. The end.

Thank you for all the comments, new followers and stopping by my lil' ol' blog.

Until next time...

Sightseeing

Uche was visiting DC for the very first time. One of the few things she wanted to do was visit some of DC's historical sites. Since I had some free time on my hands, I offered to take her. Inside, I was pretty geeked. You see, I am a tourist at heart. Love sightseeing. Love it. But a mark of a true tourist is to rock a Hawaiian shirt and a fanny pack hop on one of those sightseeing tour bus. Double decker, of course. Oh, my day will come. For sure. Also, it gave me a chance to finally see the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

If you haven't noticed, I really like taking pictures. In my head, I believe that my lovely lil' Nikon Cool Pix is some fancy DSLR. *flip braids* Anywho, I feel more comfortable being behind the camera than in front of one. I am in no way, shape or form claiming to be a professional. Shoo, I'm not even scrapping a beginner. I don't even think it's a hobby. It's just a fun thing to do. (Hmmm...that sounds like a hobby, right? Nah.)

Alrighty, enjoy the pictures!

Uche repping the Midwest!

I need...N E E D...to get one of these things.

It started raining. Light rain, though. But still...

I peeped Uche taking a photo this way with her fancy DSLR and I'm like, shit, my non-DSLR camera can do that, too!
Dammit.
Actually, it went more of I saw her taking a photo like this and me going, "Oooh, oooh! Let me try!"

I had a couple of tourists around us thinking that the tall guy in a black suit (left side of this photo) playing with the Obamas' dog was actually Mr. President, himself.
"I'm telling you. That is Obama. Right there. Ya'll don't see him playing with the dog?"
*chuckles*

Despite living in DC and the DC suburbs practically all my life, I still get excited to be near the White House.
After we were done, we got together with Cee and Chioma for happy hour. Destination? Aria Pizzeria & Bar.

Enjoy the weekend!
