I had a pretty nice one.
Sugarloaf Craft Festival
Where: Montgomery County Fairground
This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to check out the Sugarloaf Craft Festival at the Montgomery County Fairground. I invited my friend from out of town, ChiChi, to join in on the fun. Over 250 creative minds from all over the nation were at the venue to showcase their work. From accessories to clothing to photography and sculptures, there were a lot to check out. I mean, there is no way you can attend this festival and leave NOT in awe. I just love to see someone talk so passionately about their work. From young to old (there was a couple, 70+ years old, who has been in business for more than 40yrs selling beautiful and funky magnifiers, eyeglass frames and accessories), they are showing off their work of art with pride. It's crazy how one can possess so much talent.

Besides vendors (outside and indoors) there were also craft demonstrations (ex. wheel thrown pottery) and ongoing demos (ex. hand carved bowls). We were entertained with live music from Mbandi Music while strolling around the area.
I highly recommend this festival. The next
Alrighty, it's that time again....pictures time! Enjoy.

Created my first name with the help of Amazing Photo Letters. ChiChi created the name of best friend's soon-to-be newborn. Talk about a great baby gift! |

My favorite vendor at the festival, by a mile, was Mondo Art. Based in South Carolina, Gerardo Leccese showcased his 'one of a kind, tri-dimensional artwork'. I loved each and every one. And, of course, he did not want me to take pictures of his paintings. Of course. I damn near begged him but he refused. *le sigh* Completely understandable.
Have a great and safe weekend!
I Think There's Something In My Eyes
Gosh. What in the hell was I doing at 9yrs old?
Hmmm...definitely not making my very own arcade, that's for sure! Yeah, I had a bit of a creative mind: writing stories and drawing illustrations. And when I get bored with that, I would read...and read a lot. Also, I created my own version of the Jeopardy game with my siblings. That counts for something...right? Right?!!
But this young boy's story. His creative mind, his determination, his optimism. Yeah, definitely blows my 9 year old self outta the water.
Enjoy the short movie!
Nice Try
This was my casual Friday look for work. Didn't feel like wearing jeans. *shrugs*
Anywho, it's also my first time trying the whole collar-with-a-statement necklace trend. Is there, like, an official name for this trend? There has to be. Somebody help me out! I think this is my favorite trend at the moment. I always enjoy seeing when bloggers (and non-bloggers) try this look. It just makes everyone look so stylish...so preppy. Puts me in my happy place. (^_^) The reason why this was my first time is because I just felt for someone with my bustline and stomach, it wouldn't look good on me. Especially, with the addition of a statement necklace. Eek! Yes, I've seen other plus size-ers doing it...and doing it well but I was still apprehensive. Then on that lovely Friday, I said to myself, fuck it. Let me give it a try:
I think in order for this to work for me and my body, my shirts have to be a size bigger. Anything my actual size or tighter would just look odd. But that's just me. With the sheer shirt I'm wearing, it's really oversized (click here to see). So much so, that I had to use a skinny belt to shorten it. I think it worked out well enough. *pats self on the back*
I'm definitely stuck on this trend.
Upgrade My Wardrobe: Watches
I am a huge watch lover! But you would not know it from viewing this blog. As I'm sure you guys have noticed, I've been rocking the same two watches for the past 3 years. Which is pretty funny coming from someone who used to rotate at least 10 watches. But that was eons ago. There was a time when I was a huge fan of leather strap watches. Not anymore. I currently have two leather strap watches. Both are from Guess and both over 6-7 years old. And I hardly wear them. Something that hasn't changed, though, is my love for men's and big and oversized watches. I just think that small watches don't look good on my wrist. Even when I was a smaller size, it just never did. I just like for a watch to move around, giving my wrist some breathing room.
This spring/summer season, I'm looking to add a few more watches to my collection. A huge plus would be some kind of color watch.

Upgrade My Wardrobe: Jeans and Pants
Fun Fact: I own 3 pair of jeans, 1 pair of pants and 1 pair of leggings.
Exactly.
If I can wear skirts or dresses everyday of the year, I most certainly can. But even I know that sometimes it's pretty cool to change up your look once it an a while. In my case, this means owning more than just 4 freakin' pair of pants. *facepalm*
It's not that I don't like pants or jeans..because I do. And it's not that the ones I currently have don't look good on me...because they do. It's just that it can be quite a hassle finding the right pair to fit my body type (apple shape, barely no ass). The thought of just trying on jeans just brings a stank look across my face (seriously, I'm typing this sentence with a 'stank face'). I do not like trying on clothes.
But this season, I'm all for pants and jeans! And I really don't know why. Like, I'm truly excited to purchase some. Weird. (I'm sticking with my one pair of leggings, though. Truly don't care for leggings. The only time I wear the one of I have is for lounging in the house or to quickly buy something from the grocery store.)

My focus for this spring/summer season is to buy items that I truly need. And I am in dire need for some new pair of jeans and pants/trousers.
All ye lover of pants, where else can I find a nice stylish pair?
Tribal Night
I haven't worn this tribal blazer for quite some time. And I really don't know why, either. Like, it's been almost 2 years. Funny enough, the last time I wore it was here. That was such a fun day. Anywho, I went to a birthday dinner at Sake Japanese Restaurant. Great sushi, by the way!
