Emmys '12

Emmy Awards 2012
January Jones in Zac Posen
Best Dressed.
Her makeup was kinda sorta weird, though.

I am a TV fanatic. I prefer TV over movies. All day, every day. So, when award shows that recognize TV stars roll 'round, I'm all for it. Just finished watching this year's Emmy Awards. Jimmy Kimmel was the host and I think he did a good job.

Floral + Lace

I love my Faith 21 (now Forever 21+) black lace dress. I got this item almost 2 years ago, worn it so many effin' times within those years and yet I still believe I haven't worn it enough. So, you will definitely see it again on this blog (Mind you, it's already been shown on this blog here and here). You've been warned.

Salon Lynn Soiree

Last week I attended Salon Lynne One Year Anniversary Soiree. It took place at Hillyer Art Space. The owner of Salon Lynne is Lynne Wooden, a 16+ years beauty expert who is a hair stylist, colorist and extensionist. Not only has she worked in the entertainment industry but she is the go-to stylist for the who's who in DC, including the host of the event, TV personality Paul Wharton. Can I just say how jealous in awe I was of dude's hair? I mean, it was shiny and bouncy and just everything. He definitely got the crowd going with his fun personality. We enjoyed tasty treats from Brownie Bar, drinks from X-Rated Fusion Liqueur and tunes from DJ Mim. Finally, one of Lynne's team member, Dana, was there to give us complimentary manicures.

Celebrating Women Blogger Reception

Over the weekend, I was invited to attend an intimate event, Celebrating Women Blogger Reception at Last Call by Neiman Marcus at Potomac Mills. I have not been to Potomac Mills (an outlet mall) in well over a decade so I was pretty geeked to head out there (it doesn't take much for me to geek out). We were given a presentation of fall trends from stylist Lani Inlander. After the presentation, the general manager of Last Call, Tom Boiles, told us about future deals, promotions and events that will take place at his store. Finally, we were given a tour of the mall's Fashion District by Caroline Berry Green who is the Director of Marketing & Business Development. The Fashion District includes some great stores like Bloomingdale's, Coach Factory, Michael Kors, True Religion, Nordstrom Rack, etc. We were treated to refreshments, light food and a gift bag which included a coffee table book, Reflection of a Man: The Photographs of Stanley Marcus.

FNO Georgetown

dc plus size style blogger

The few photos I managed to take while soaking up the energy on M Street. Dealing with the humid weather, crowded sidewalks and a slightly pair of sore feet...I still had a nice time. Though, I think next year around the same time in Sept. I'm gonna head right on up and experience FNO NYC. A different scene.

Next post will be on what I wore.
