Oooh. A reason just popped in my head.
BET Awards '14
Heart, Print & Style and not once have I recapped a BET Awards show? Wow. Bad, Vivi. Bad. Especially considering that I always look forward to the BET Awards. And for the past few years, it has been far better than the Grammys and the MTV Music Awards.
Simplicity
As you may already know based on this blog, I'm all about simplicity when it comes to my looks. But please believe, you can still create simple looks that are stylish.
Governors Ball '14
As I stated in my previous post, my sis and I did a day trip to NYC this past Friday for the Governors Ball, a music festival which takes place at Randall's Island, NYC. We got there just in time to hear Janelle Monae performing on stage. We didn't actually get to see her perform BUT it was nice to groove to her music while walking towards the entrance gate.
Blue Reflection
Ever since it got into my closet, I've worn this Avenue dress so many times: Easter, Mother Day's, an evening out, etc. It's just an item that I truly enjoy wearing. The fit is flattering, the 3/4 sleeves are right up my alley, and the length hits a smidgen above my knees giving me the option to wear it anyway I please. (Oooh. That rhymed.) Another plus is the wrap detailing. Even though it's a faux wrap, the gathering across the front finishing with a side tie closure at the waist gives the right amount of coverage for my stomach area.
Inspiration #9
Coco Rocha with Christian Siriano
You see Christian's pose in the 2nd photo? You see how he's looking at us with a "Yeah. I know it looks good" expression?
Coco Rocha's shines in this beautiful Christian Siriano off-the-shoulder gown that oozes with drama. And the impeccable styling - from the makeup to the hat - made this whole look a winner in my brown eyes.
(p.s. Can we talk about Christian's shoes for a moment? Insane! In a good way, of course.)

So...my DC card stays wanting to get revoked, though. I haven't tried Mambo Sauce. Never been to a go-go club (too old for it now but, y'know, during my earlier years). And I never knew something called the US National Arboretum even existed.
Her recent trip to the museum popped up on my Instagram timeline and I was blown away by the beautiful scenery. I was like, you gotta take me to this garden, yo. She agreed. And we met up on Memorial Day to do so.
