Sunday Morning

I wore this to my church. This skirt has been in my possession for about 2 months and I have never worn it. Until today. The combo of flowers and stripes are just adorable. Also, it fits with the whole mixing prints trend since the most common mixing is flowers with stripes. Plus, it has pockets. A dress or a skirt that has pockets is a win for me.

Casual Night

Event: Monif C Washington, D.C. Shopping Event
Summary: One thing about this whole blogging phenomenon is learning about designers and stores that given different circumstances, you will have never knew even existed. Just last year, I've discovered ASOS and Dorothy Perkins. This year, it's Evans and Monif C. Last week, I read somewhere that Monif C. was bringing her boutique to DC for a one night shopping event. Finally, I'm getting a chance to see these designs face-to-face and not online.

I already had in mind the items I wanted to try on:

"Raquel" Fire Print Jumpsuit with Black Belt"Alexandra" Draped Goddess Dress - Gold Shimmer

Unfortunately, when I got there, those items were sold out. Shit. But then, I came across this pretty little number:

"Naomi" High Shoulder Dress w/Panels - Black

I was kinda skeptical but my fashion buddy insisted I try it on. I did. And with a little bit more convincing from my friend...and Monif C, herself...and her assistant...and her intern...and a few stand by customers, I bought the dress (with a nice little discount attached). My first bodycon dress. *raises the roof*
