I Slang in My Brown Boots

Fall arrived a couple weeks early here in the DC area and I am loving every minute of it.

Be gone, humidity!
Be gone, 10 days straight of near 100 degrees weather!
Just...be gone!

Well, I really liked the bare legs with ankle boots look on me. I pulled it off. *dusts off shoulder*

You do know that Fall is when the stylish people comes out to play. Right? I'm sure I'm not the only one that knows this. Am I? Nah. And why not when there are so many things to play with. Sweaters...cardigans...and tights...and blazers...and layering...and boots.

When Bisi of Road to Fashionable and I decided to make our thrifting trip happen, I wanted to wear something casual and lightweight since I may or may not be trying on some clothes (remember...not a fan of trying on clothes). I wore my favorite black dress from Target. Because of the slightly nippy weather that day, I paired it with a velvet black cropped jacket. My accessories were my vintage bag that I bought from Buffalo Exchange and my H & M leopard scarf. For the feet, I went with my trusty brown ankle boots from Avenue. This was actually my first time wearing it without any tights. I don't know, I always felt that I didn't have the legs to pull it off.

I could not take my eyes off her necklace!
As soon as I saw her  I was like, I need to take a picture of  your necklace.
Guess what? She made it herself! Talented, much?

Meanwhile, she loved my bag.
I was trying my darnest to hide my chipped nails.

I loved the bare legs with ankle boots look so much that I did it again the following day. I went to the International Spy Museum with Chiaka and her friend, Chioma. Yes, I'm still on my museum phase. It will never leave me! Anywho, Living Social had a great deal and we decided to make use of it. It's an interactive museum. Fun and informative. Once again, taking pictures was not allowed (or as the young lady told us before entering: 'No photography'). Grr. I truly believe that pictures would have tell a better story. Ah well. Just take my word for it. It was good.

Okay, I called Cee up and asked what she was wearing. She was like, "I'm wearing sweatpants...a shirt. And I have flats on. I'm pretty casual." Then I came upon...this. I side-eyed her. I'm like, girl, this ain't casual! You dressed up! lolol. She laughed. lolol. She tried to convince me that her sweatpants & geek glasses made the whole 'fit casual. Hmmm. What do you guys think?

Chioma and Cee

The next stop we hit up was Red Velvet. Cee saw a great deal on Groupon and decided to use it. The DC location is quite small. You just order and leave with your cupcake. This trio wanted to sit down and enjoy the cupcake. So, that was a slight bummer. Try the Vanilla Bean, Summertime and Peanut Butter Cup. Awesome! Stay away from the Cookies 'N Cream. You have been warned.

Until next time...
