BLM Happy Hour

BLM = Bloggers Like Me

I was introduced to this FB group by Elle. She kept raving about the awesome ladies and how supportive they are of each other and how incredibly resourceful some of the ladies are in the group and etc., etc. I was intrigued. I signed up almost two months ago and I am pretty glad I made the move. The group was created by Leslie of Fashion DuJour. Her goal was to form a community of women bloggers dedicated to the positive exchange of ideas, tips, and advice about fashion, beauty, relationships, and faith through blogging, meetups and social networking. As of today, there are 600+ members! I mean, these members are from all over the world. Pretty cool.

Last night, the DC BLM-ers decided to do happy hour at Smith Commons. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we were asked to wear some form of pink. We even had ourselves a hashtag, #BLMGirlsGoPink. Also, there were donations which went towards Sisters Network, Inc. It was nice to finally put faces to names that I have seen online and communicated with online. I had myself some good wine, some FANTASTIC mac and cheese (sweet Baby Jesus, that mac and cheese was so so so  good) and fries. We all were just bonding and talking throughout the night...almost. I mean, it was a Wednesday night.

Fun times all around.

What I wore -

Cardigan/Skirt: Old Navy, Tunic: H&M, Purse: Forever 21
Booties: Avenue

I was coming from work. And no, I did not go to work rocking some semi-mini skirt. This is actually the Old Navy jersey pencil skirt that I wore to the Goodwill Gala (click here). During the day I tucked in the hi-low H&M tunic inside the skirt and wore flats. But once I left, I untucked the tunic, hiked up the skirt and slipped on the Avenue wedge booties. Good to go.
