Event: Capital Solstice: A Pop-Up Black Tie Dinner Soiree
Where: Echostage

Capital Solstice transformed the popular concert arena that is Echostage into a beautifully lit black tie gala. The event marked their DC debut, having already done a similar event in NYC. Along with drinks and music from DJ Schemes and DJ Quicksilva, guests were treated to a 9 course meal served tapas style. A dining experience like that calls for a relaxed social setting - illuminated standing tables wedged between oversized plush lounge seats. Menu was prepared by Timothy Thompson of TTC Private Chefs and one of the creators of Capital Solstice. Proceeds from this event was donated to Becky's Fund to support their domestic violence initiatives.

I was extremely excited to see the fashion presentation featuring Kortu Momolu, runner-up on both Project Runway Season 5 and Project Runway All Stars Season 3. Plus she was a fan favorite. I'm convinced Korto has a 2nd home in DC because she's always here. Hey, not complaining. I'm a fan of her work. Also, I met her eons ago (okay, six years ago) at a fashion event in *ahem* DC. Her designs are still top notch. Truly happy for her success. Another entertainment element we enjoyed was a music performance by local artist Cecily.
