Sightseeing

Uche was visiting DC for the very first time. One of the few things she wanted to do was visit some of DC's historical sites. Since I had some free time on my hands, I offered to take her.

*photo heavy post

I was pretty geeked. You see, I am a tourist at heart. Love sightseeing. Love it. But a mark of a true tourist is to rock a Hawaiian shirt and a fanny pack hop on one of those sightseeing tour bus. Double decker, of course. Oh, my day will come. For sure. Also, it gave me a chance to finally see the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

If you haven't noticed, I really like taking pictures. In my head, I believe that my lovely lil' Nikon Cool Pix is some fancy DSLR. *flip braids* Anywho, I feel more comfortable being behind the camera than in front of one. I am in no way, shape or form claiming to be a professional. Shoo, I'm not even scrapping a beginner. I don't even think it's a hobby. It's just a fun thing to do. (Hmmm...that sounds like a hobby, right? Nah.)

Alrighty, enjoy the photos!

Uche repping the Midwest!
I need...N E E D...to get one of these things.

It started raining. Light rain, though. But still...

I peeped Uche taking a photo this way with her fancy DSLR and I'm like, shit, my non-DSLR camera can do that, too!
Dammit.
Actually, it went more of I saw her taking a photo like this and me going, "Oooh, oooh! Let me try!"
I had a couple of tourists around us thinking that the tall guy in a black suit (left side of this photo) playing with the Obamas' dog was actually Mr. President, himself.
"I'm telling you. That is Obama. Right there. Ya'll don't see him playing with the dog?"
*chuckles*
Despite living in DC and the DC suburbs practically all my life, I still get excited to be near the White House.

After we were done, we got together with Cee and Chioma for happy hour. Destination? Aria Pizzeria & Bar.

Enjoy the weekend!
