I swear a maxi dress should become one of the new staples in your closet.

Okay, maybe I should explain this a bit further. Yes, we're all aware of the most common maxi dresses - the jersey kind. The one you throw on during the weekend for errands or to have a casual look that day. But for the past couple of years, the maxi dress got a bit of a makeover. It's now comes in beautiful prints and in different styles. It has become dressier, so to speak. If you recall, one of my favorite maxi dresses of all time is this ASOS Curve one I copped 4 years ago. Still rockin' it like it was purchased last week. (proof here here here here). However, for the past year or so, sleeved wrap maxi dresses have really caught my attention. Wearing one just makes me feel all lady-like and shit. (Yes, I realize what I did there.)

Avenue debuted a couple of pretty faux wrap maxi dresses last year. I fell in love with this colorful number and have already worn it a couple of times prior to wearing it last week. An opportunity fell in my lap in the form of judging a plus size pageant at Morgan State University. This dress was perfect for the occasion because it was bright, dressy, and, above all, comfortable. I can't wait to show you the pageant recap but still waiting for the official photos. Once the photos are sent my way, the post will be up. So be on the lookout.
